Competitive Comparison- 2018 Lincoln Navigator

PERFORMANCE

Twin-Turbocharged 3.5L Engine

Capable of producing up to 450 horsepower** and 510 lb.-ft. of torque** the Twin-Turbocharged 3.5L engine in the Navigator is a true powerhouse without feeling like one. This engine, new to Lincoln, represents many firsts for us, geared toward enhanced efficiency that includes complete electronic control and dual-point fuel injection.

10-Speed Selectshift Automatic Transmission

The 10-speed transmission in the Lincoln Navigator helps to balance efficiency with performance. With 10 independent shift points, the engine can operate in its sweet spot and avoid the highs and lows associated with fewer gears.

Lincoln Drive Modes

Satisfy both your desire for control and need for excitement with the simple twist of a dial. From Slippery to Conserve, the Lincoln Navigator offers six distinct selectable drive modes for confidence, exhilaration and control in a wide variety of driving conditions. Each mode has a number of calculated settings that tune the vehicle, including the available adaptive suspension, shift points, 4x2 vs. 4x4 drive lines, information displays and more - and it all happens with the simple twist of a knob.

Adaptive Suspension*

Road conditions vary and, for smooth and confident driving, your suspension should too. The adaptive suspension controls the up-and-down movement of the wheels when driving on uneven surfaces and over potholes. This system, controlled by the six selectable Lincoln Drive Modes, helps decrease the stress of harsh outside driving situations without compromising the comfort within.

Four-Wheel Drive*

Whether it's on the road or off, 4x4 capability offers true mastery of your journey. The Navigator's 4x4 powertrain unlocks and deftly applies the Twin-Turbocharged engine's 450 horsepower** and 510 lb.-ft. of torque,** making rugged driving conditions easily traversed. Plus, by adding available Hill Descent ControlTM and tow hooks, trying situations will be easily overcome.

Auto Hold

Auto hold helps to reduce effort in keeping your vehicle still at stop signs, signals and other braking situations. When the driver brings the vehicle to a standstill using the brake pedal, they can stop depressing the brake and the system will hold the vehicle in position,*** even on hills. When the driver engages the accelerator, the Auto Hold will then release the brakes

DESIGN

From the moment the backlit* Lincoln Star on its grille illuminates, Navigator commands attention. The carefully curated elements and linear forms within its spacious interior are designed to create a feeling of balance. Note the way the frameless rearview mirror seems to hover in place above real wood trim that flows gracefully through the center of the cabin. Even the beauty of its jewel- like adaptive LED headlamps extends beyond the surface. Navigator is the only vehicle in its class with 100% LED lighting inside and out - and the LEDs are designed to last the lifetime of a vehicle - so you may never need to replace a single one. It's yet another way the all-new 2018 Lincoln Navigator makes life more effortless for you.

TECHNOLOGY

Lincoln Navigator harnesses technology to improve the safety of drivers and their passengers while offering luxury entertainment. The Head Up Display helps to create a custom driving experience by letting drivers chose what data to display, from standard driving information to adaptive cruise control settings, lane keeping information and more. The voice-activated SYNC 3 system allows users to make music choices, phone calls and text messages hands-free. The SYNC Applink feature lets you enjoy certain apps from your phone without taking your hands off the wheel. A state-of-the-art THX II Certified 5.1 Surround Sound Audio System and a Dual-Headrest DVD Entertainment System will keep passengers happy while drivers focus on the road. Other integral features, such as rain-sensing wipers, a rear-view camera and the Blind Spot Information System, assist drivers in tight spots, providing added security to passengers and pedestrians alike.
